March 9, 2022 Meeting Info
Woodworking March Madness; Wednesday March 9 at 7:00PM. First, we will continue with Rob Hess. We left off last meeting with Rob sharing with us his folk harp build. This meeting we will start off with Rob presenting us with the process of building a mandolin; a unique skill set needed for this not so easy endeavor! For those like me who want to hear the sound of these beautiful instruments, you will be treated to a couple of musical selections from the award winning CJWA coffee house band. (Anyone interested in joining us, please bring your axe and contact me beforehand for repertoire!)
Coffee / Refreshments will be served this month.
Scott Fulmer, cjwa member and also currently serving on the board of directors at CRAFTS of NJ will share with us his unique stool ( aka the electric chair…J), and the interesting story behind it.
Joe Ferraro will present his “cutting board,” which I would say is more a piece of artwork. Why anyone would want to sink a knife into those 2 octaves in beyond me….although I did have a friend take an axe to her piano one time during college years, after struggling with a Beethoven sonata.
We have received positive feedback from the zoomies last month. Matt somehow incorporated the slide shows directly to the zoom program for much better clarity. We will do the same again this month, so look for the invite in your mailbox this weekend from Matt Geene, our producer; that is of course, if you can’t join us in person.
This should again be a another informative, entertaining and enjoyable session for us. Looking forward to seeing all, and if out of state, or just not able to experience this in person, please log on to the fun!
Bob
