Danny Birnbaum a Professional Cabinet Maker from East Orange , NJ educated and entertained us with details of some of his past projects and how he overcame some obstacles in producing his clients’ desired results.

The seminar covered all the machine process required to take rough lumber to 4 side squared prior to starting a project. Machine safety was covered and everyone came away with a logical safe process when they return to their shops. Vacuum Press veneering was also covered with a demonstration, and explanation of the process and materials used.
Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 7:55AM The June CJWA meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 10, at 7:00 PM. Before we break for the summer, we will be holding our annual CJWA member showcase. Members are encouraged to bring along projects they have recently completed or are in the process of completing for a “show-and-tell”. There will be opportunity for photographs to be taken for the members gallery. We will also be discussing some of our summer activities.
Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:04AM The May CJWA member meeting will feature Joe Corigliano, one of CJWA’s own. Joe recently completed the 2 year Cabinetmaking program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston. Joe will be sharing his experiences from the program with the membership.

Monday, April 6, 2015 at 4:34PM The April meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 8th. This month we will be hosting a woodworking round robin, where several of our members will be manning stations set up around the meeting room and discussing different aspects of the craft. Bob Emmons will be discussing some simple techniques for finishing. Frank Vucolo will be presenting 10 simple shop tips. Wilbur Pan will discuss the basics of sharpening edge tools (bring a dull chisel or plane iron and bring it back to life). And Marc Gaertner will present an intro to working with veneer.
