As many of you know, selling birdhouse kits has been a major source of fundraising for our club. Of course, the kits have to be made. We are having a get together tomorrow night, Aug. 24 at 7 PM at Jeff Brown’s shop to help make the parts for the birdhouse kits. All are welcome.
Jeff is located at 13 Birch Hill Road, Freehold, NJ 07728. For questions or more information, call him at 732-522-0437.
CJWA member Michael Melofchik of Dream Forest Studios again will be teaching a series of woodworking classes aimed at the beginning woodworker through The Jointure for Community Adult Education. Each class consists of two weekly 1-1/2 hour sessions, and tuition is only $49 for each class. Information on the series can be found on The Jointure’s website. The classes will be held at the Bridgewater Raritan Middle School in Bridgewater, and the series starts on Sept. 21.
The Jointure has been providing adult education classes in Somerset County for over 80 years. You can get more information and register for the classes online at The Jointure’s website.
Bill Woodward has been kind enough to host this years family CJWA club picnic. The date is Saturday July 31 from 1 to 5PM, with a rain date the following Sunday August 1.
The club will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, paper goods and cups. If everyone planning to attend would bring a side dish or dessert similar to what we did for our Holiday Party, no one will leave hungry. In order to get an idea of how many burgers and soda to buy, please RSVP to Marc Gaertner with how many are coming and what you are planning on bringing. This way we can avoid excessive duplication of items, although I think that an excess of desserts is never a problem. It would be also be helpful if people can bring additional chairs.
Hope to see everyone there!
