Our next meeting will be on September 14.

        William Duffield
September is here, and with that an announcement for our next in person meeting at the Old Brick Church Community Center in Marlboro NJ, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 7:00PM.  Hopefully most of you did not melt the past couple of months and still in top form to see some cool demonstrations and meet old and new friends.
This month we will feature William Duffield, a very knowledgeable and skilled CJWA member, in a turning demonstration.  Among the many aspects of woodworking, turning is such an important skill needed for spindles, legs, columns in furniture construction, and for its own sake in bowls and works of art.  I personally have a Pie Crust Table on my list for this November in which I will have to turn and carve the column.  If there is enough interest in our membership, this could lead to a turning seminar this fall, where we could meet for a full day, with participants getting a chance to learn how to use the basic turning tools on a lathe, and making something to take home.

For those members that can’t make it in person, we will again zoom the meeting.  Matt Geene will be sending out an invite next weekend before the meeting.  Jim Braun will host this meeting as I will be up north for a few more weeks, thanks Jim!

The book library will be open, so if you need to return a book don’t forget to bring it with you.

Light snack and beverage will be served for break.

Hoping for a good in person turnout this season; get out of the house, arrange some car pools if needed, and on with our craft!
