Robert Hemsen will give a presentation of a Chinese Horseshoe chair he built with some complicated and interesting joinery.
Then Steve Altman will do a presentation of an Elliptical, veneered cabinet he recently completed.

Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 11:39PM For the April 11th meeting, our guest speaker will be the acclaimed Furniture Maker Chuck Bender. He will be presenting an instructional seminar on how to get started carving wood for furniture.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Chuck and his decades of accomplishments check out this link to his bio when he was with 360Woodworking.
Currently Chuck has restarted his Acanthus Workshop where he offers “Handmade, museum quality furniture” which is “painstakingly built from the best figured lumber available for a limited number of clients each year.” He is also offering classes starting with a basics class - Woodworking Fundamentals, then moving into Inlay, Spice Boxes and Carving for Furniture Makers to name but a few. Having personally seen Chuck present in the past I know this is going to be a very informative, engaging and entertaining evening. This is one meeting you don’t want to miss, so mark your calendar for this coming Wednesday April 11th starting at 7:00 PM.
If time allows William Duffield will be presenting this month’s “Mini Fundamentals” where he will talk about fundamentals of securing your work.

Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 11:58PM This Wednesday’s meeting we will be hosting long time club member and professional cabinetmaker Danny Birnbaum of Saco Birnbaum Fine Woodworking. He and his business partner Miguel Saco have over 30 years combined experience in the custom furniture and woodworking business. Together they have produced high quality furniture and architectural cabinetry for their worldwide clientele. They specialize in custom veneers and exotic woods. Their finishing department is unsurpassed in French polishing and the more traditional finishes.

Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 11:43PM This Wednesday’s meeting will start off with the “Mini Fundamentals” segment for this month. This time around it will be Bob Emmons who will give a short talk / demonstration about reading grain direction for successful milling and glue ups.
Robert Lafferty, a long time club member and profession woodworker will be the feature speaker. He will discuss his business http://www.blackpointwoodworking.com/ as well as the recent short production run of intricate Dim Sum Platters.

This Wednesday is Valentine’s Day; please note that we are still meeting as scheduled.

Monday, January 8, 2018 at 12:00AM We will be starting off the meeting with the club’s annual Officer Elections.
It’s also time to renew your annual club memberships which for the first time in nearly 10 years the dues will be increased to $50.
Also note, in recognition of the overwhelming majority of seniors that make up our membership there will no longer be a reduced senior rate.
There will be brief annual report from Matt and Doug.
This month’s “Mini Fundamentals” will be a talk-demo on gluing up a panel. This will be followed by Wilbur Pan who will be giving a talk on the health risks of dust exposure.
William Duffield will than give a talk on laying out, shaping and fairing curves.
We are looking for a few good woodworkers….
